About me

Hi there! I'm Zedaes. I craft robust and intelligent systems that harness the full potential of machine learning. I'd rather not be a "jack of all trades master of none", so my work spans heavily across 3 main fields. Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Reinforcement Learning. My projects are driven by a curiosity and fire to learn constantly.

I've been coding for the past 7 years, and during that time, I've developed a strong foundation in various programming languages and technologies. I've tackled everything from simple projects to more complex applications, which has helped me grow as a developer.

My tech stack is Python, Javascript, Java, HTML5, and CSS3.

I also like to create animations in Manim :)

Hot Takes

AI Opinions

ChatGPT

Super reliable and fast, but so much for being "Open"AI.

7/10 2025-04-01

Local Models

Running 7B-13B parameter models locally will do more for privacy and customization than any cloud API.

9/10 (If you can buy 10 Mac Studios) 2024-03-28

Deepseek

Really slow and sometimes buggy, but no text limit or any of the shenanigans that ChatGPT pulls.

IDE Wars

VS Code

Just use it already...

10/10 2025-03-18

Neovim

Just why... if you want to use Vim just get the Vim plugin for any other IDE. Looks cool though :)

6/10 2025-03-15

JetBrains

Depends on what language. Only really worth it if you are a student and can get the free licenses.

Learning Programming

Tutorial Hell

Following tutorials without building original projects is the #1 reason people fail to learn programming. Just start building stuff already!

Absolute Truth 2025-03-10

Language Doesn't Matter

Debating first languages is pointless - concepts transfer. Pick one and build things, stop analysis paralysis.

Terminal Warfare

Warp

Limited customizability but the in built AI is helpful.

7.5/10 2025-02-28

Alacritty

GPU-accelerated terminals like Alacritty make a noticeable difference when you live in the terminal all day.

8/10 2025-02-25

Ghostty

Ghostty is a sleek and minimal terminal emulator with excellent performance and customization options.

9/10 2025-02-23

OS Battleground

Linux

Linux on desktop is perpetually "almost there" - great for devs but still too fragmented for the average person. Use this if you have a old laptop that will burn if you run Windows

7/10 2025-02-22

Windows

WSL2 makes Windows viable for dev work, but native Linux/Mac still provides better integration. Bare Windows without WSL2 is impossible to work in.

5/10 2025-02-20

macOS

Apple Silicon performance is amazing and Home Brew is clutch. UI is minimal and is perfect for devs.

9/10 2025-02-18

Browser Wars

Firefox

Firefox is making a strong comeback with its focus on privacy and noticeable performance upgrades, keeping it a solid choice for independent web browsing.

8.5/10 2024-04-20

Chrome

Google's browser monopoly is worrying, but you can't deny its speed and ecosystem integration keep it on top.

9/10 2024-04-18

Safari

Apple's browser is optimized for battery life but lacks in features and standards compliance.
